Navigation Equipment Maintenance/Engineer:  Colorado, Louisiana, Columbus, Ohio

DBT Transportation Services LLC is a private service provider to general aviation airports across the United States. DBT provides field maintenance to specific systems of Automated Weather Observations Systems, Control Towers, ILS, DME’s, VOR, and other navigation equipment and verify the equipment meets all FAA regulations and tolerances.  DBT is looking to hire 3 Navigational specialist in the next few weeks to cover Colorado, Louisiana and Columbus, Ohio.  Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.  Each position is supplied a company truck, phone and computer.  All expenses paid.  This is a salaried position that includes full benefits to include Medical, dental, vision, 401K and company match.

Job Description:

A field service engineer is a technician who spends most of his time in the field or at a customer site where he/she helps troubleshoot equipment problems.  Field service engineers have specific training in the equipment they maintain which requires sound knowledge of the system, wiring, and sensing technology of a system.  Technicians have to be self-starters, work independently most of the time, adhere to schedules, follow company processes, manage customer expectations and be able to quickly repair/troubleshoot system problems in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a customer portfolio
  • Provide routine maintenance checks on a schedule and within regulatory compliance (FAA and FCC)
  • Provide timely and detailed site reports to central office following all customer visits.
  • Use company RM3 monitor tools to manage customer outages/uptime of systems.
  • Provide all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solution.
  • Provide field calls to customer system outages.
  • Manage inventory of company owned spare parts.
  • Manage monthly expense reporting.
  • Manage company owned vehicle – routine maintenance, brake checks, oil changes as needed.
  • Follow all company procedures and protocols.

Duties:

  • Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day
  • Lift up to 50-70 pounds
  • Be able to climb 30-foot towers/properly use all safety climbing equipment
  • Be able to problem solve, troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Be able to document testing procedures and written work in FAA logbooks
  • Follow all regulatory rules or requirements of job site, inclusive of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Work independently on-site (most of time only person on-site)
  • Replace/install sensors upon failure
  • Communicate any field issues to customer
  • Communicate any field concerns to supervisor or central office
  • Properly use test equipment, hand-held tools, and power tools as needed
  • Properly test power source and voltage

Skills:

  • Microsoft office suite – proficient in all tools
  • Previous Automated Weather System maintenance
  • Previous navigational system maintenance (Thales Mark 10/20A ILS, DME, VOR, RNAV, NDB, outer marker, approach lighting)
  • Proficient in tower climbing
  • Hold FCC license
  • Hold valid driver’s license
